Matt Ward, Creator of BeliefTrack

I'm Matt Ward: a Christian, husband, dad, and software engineer who has grown increasingly passionate about theology, church history, and helping others navigate the complexities of Christian belief in a clear and honest way.

As I began to dig deeper into Scripture and theology, I quickly realized that my view wasn't the only view for some of my beliefs. That realization launched me into a humbling and exciting journey, exploring different perspectives, understanding historical doctrines, and wrestling with what it truly means to follow Jesus.

What I found, sadly, is that many Christians aren't just unsure of why they believe something; they're not always clear on what they believe. That burden led to a simple idea: what if there was a tool where people could answer a series of belief-based questions, not as a test, but as a reflection? What if you could not only express agreement or disagreement but also rate your confidence in those beliefs? The goal wasn't judgment, but clarity.

It started with an idea to just have a Google doc with a list of all the potential beliefs I could think of. That idea eventually grew into what you see now: BeliefTrack, a platform where anyone can explore, track, and grow in their understanding of the Christian faith.

Equip the Church to fill the gaps in discipleship, and build stronger Christians who truly know what they believe, and why. BeliefTrack exists to provide a grace filled space where followers of Christ can pause, honestly reflect on what they believe, and lovingly challenge the presuppositions that shape those beliefs. Our goal is to foster thoughtful conversation, free from ridicule, so every user can ask difficult questions, explore historical and biblical perspectives, and truly understand why they hold a conviction. In doing so, we hope each step of discovery draws the Church nearer to truth and, ultimately, closer to Jesus Himself.

Thank you for being here. Whether you're just starting your journey or refining long-held convictions, I hope BeliefTrack is a blessing to you. I'm excited to see what God continues to do through this project.
